n00b question

Hello, This is my first post and I would like to say howdey to one and all.

I am new to the PM market and I would like to know this,

Is it worth my time and effort to collect numismatic silver bullion coins of certain years such as the 1997 Canadian Maple Leaf or the 1994 Chinese silver Panda? Or will they just get me melt price when I go to trade them in when I decide the time is right?

Thank You.

Welcome freind, if you are buying as a "survivalist" then a one oz .999 round of silver is exactly that and no more, when I say survivalist I mean that you are expecting for the fiat to go down the drain (as is doing) and that silver will be worth a lot more.

As a "survivalist" I also mean that when TEOTWAWKI gets here and you come to me in order to trade you silver for a can of coffee I will not care if the round is from Canada-Australia or anywhere else, all that I wil be looking for will be the one oz round .999 of silver.

Good luck :applause_

Ive been collecting various name brand rounds (picked up 4 Liberty Mints at a local coin show for 7.50 per round  ) for a few weeks now and noticed when I looked at different silver bullion sites on the web it shows certain years of different coins trade for more because of the secondary market value. What my plan is to try to buy some of these years from ebayers that dont know what they have, go to a coin show to sell them to a dealer that knows what the true value is, get my cash and buy more regular rounds. hopefully this is a feasible idea to add to my silver hoard.

you might find that your effort into finding those rare coins is not worth the time.
